About Mikey:
Your Vegas Travel Guy

Before I could spell "Las Vegas," I was already hooked on it. I still remember my dad calming me down on the road trip out by saying, “I see the clown,” which sent me into a full-on frenzy of excitement as I searched the horizon for Lucky the Clown outside Circus Circus. Vegas wasn’t just a destination—it was the destination for our family. Early mornings, sunrise drives, neon lights, and my brother and I buzzing with anticipation in the backseat.

Even as a city kid who wasn’t into nature, I grew to love those desert drives. The sun rising over the Mojave? That’s my kind of church.

Growing up, Vegas was where we brought all our visiting relatives, celebrated birthdays, and built core memories. My cousin introduced me to shopping at the Forum Shops (shoutout to FAO Schwarz and the WB Store—hello, Bugs Bunny tees). I walked the Strip back when you could still drive and park on Fremont Street, and I watched as the city transformed—from old-school charm to mega-resort magic.

I watched volcanoes erupt at The Mirage. Pirates sink ships at Treasure Island. I didn’t care about gambling—I just wanted to touch the machines and collect the coin buckets (yes, I had a full shelf of them at home).

Then came the next era: adult Vegas.

For my 30th birthday, my family threw me a blowout bash that I’ll never forget (even if I don’t remember how it ended). Private table at Hyde in Bellagio. Dancing with a view of the fountains. Late-night shenanigans at the Wynn. I’d partied before—but that was the night I learned how to party Vegas-style.

But the real jackpot? Falling for my best friend Nikki on a trip to Vegas. We ran away to the city of lights more times than I can count. She was born here. We got engaged here. And in 2024, we said “I do” here—Elvis-style at the Little Church of the West, with a reception at Cleaver Steakhouse and an afterparty in a Wynn cabana. It was everything.

We’re now raising the next generation of Vegas lovers, bringing our two kids to the places we loved growing up. It’s not just nostalgia—it’s legacy.
